Hello Cybercat,

I have a Canon EF 135L f/2, it's a fraction of the price of the 200L and almost as good, I would go as far to say it's the best value lens you can buy.
Have a nice Christmas...Regards Paul

Having owned the 135 and 200 I can assure you the 135 does not render near the same.

The 135 is on my wish-list, I am subscribed to the related thread and like the images made with it. This lens is on the dream-list.
Thank you for the suggestion.

I Agree...... but value for money you have to agree the 135 is a great lens and it gets much more use than my 200L

Having owned both I can assure it is as close as it gets at 1/6th the cost. In fact I'd call it very "near".
Obviously opinions and what people consider to be "near", differ.

This is encouraging to give a try to the 135 f/2L. Thanks for the tip.

I own both and agree with this. Also, not only 1/6th the cost, but also about 1/3 the weight.

Same here, own both, love the 200/2 but.... as said before...

In the real world 99% of customers have no idea what lens was used where, I even find it hard at times with no image data.

I hardly ever use my 200/2, tragic I know. I use my 135 all the time, given its one of the cheapest lenses I own it produces some of the best portraits I have ever taken, The 135 is a classic lens that I feel many will be reluctant to give credit too, as in, its a secret little gem.. :D

From a recent senior session... I hadn't used the 200 in a while, so I decided to use it for this entire session.

I bet, how did you get a pregnant lady way out there...to what looks fairly remote!
