I really love the 85mm f/1.8 Sony, especially its focus hold button which I have reprogrammed for Eye AF...

It is sharp as a tack and can really blur the background...

However, it is also a nice general purpose short telephoto which can compress the background. I will normally shoot with this lens wide open but, if I need extra DOF, I will stop down,,,
