What extenders were used for that moonshot. It is fantastic and I’m trying to get prepared for the upcoming eclipse.

While configuring a custom menu I discovered 2 items in the "select items to register" list , "IS mode" and "Focus mode" that do not appear in the menu system. When i add these items to a custom men they appear grayed out. When I select one from the the custom menu with the RF-24-105 lens attached it displays the message "Not available with the attached lens". the new big whites (400 f/2.8 and 600 f/4 ) have digital focusing that can be set to 3 levels of sensitivity. I suspect that future RF lenses will have digital settings that can be set in camera or perhaps something else such as IBIS.:-)

Might need that adaptor.. which is it?
if you dont mind sharing..

@DigitalTuned it's a generic FD to RF adapter from China via ebay. Like the EOS to RF adapter, it's just an empty tube of the right length, with a collar to activate the FD aperture ring on the lens.

The most interesting thing so far is that DPP, and the on-camera display, show the focus area as a focus point for shots with a manual focus non-communicating lens.

This is a 100% crop from a SOOC JPG.

They'd look at you like that, too, if you had a wide-brimmed hat with several apples hanging from the edges like Christmas bulbs.

Living in Japan as an expat, I learned that EOS R body is cheaper here in Japan but Mount Rings and Lenses are cheaper in US. (I am only comparing two countries.)
So, got the body for ¥200,000(roughly $1,840) and rf 35mm for $499 and mount ring with control dial for $199. No extra shipping cost and tax for all of them.
Double check where it is made and warranty coverage. The body has one year warranty only in Japan. I am leaving the country sometime in Summer 2019 which gives me halfway of the coverage. At first, I panicked that the lens was made in Taiwan. I was about to return it. However, whichever shop I go to in Japan, all the same lenses were made in Taiwan and cost almost $600.

For your info, here is the link. (wow, the price has dropped even more.)

I need to get one of those invisibility cloaks like you and Jeff use! I have zero luck with owls as I notice them as they fly off.

Beautiful.
Do they eat squirrels?
Must be mean pickings in that bleakness.

Honestly there is no shortage of tucker for the owls Richard.. we get a huge influx of owls in the winter months and they all come through for the food.. And yes.. they do eat our little snowy friends the squirrel
