Every week we select a new theme, and then go out and shoot that theme. This week the theme is Before and After. As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for.

This will be a two (2) week Challenge.. This week is Before the Holidays and Next week is After the Holidays. So show us something that relates to the week Before and next week show us After.

Yup we did this last year and I think the year before.. I'm on Holiday :p

Here are the rules:
1. Shots need to be taken between Monday Sunset and the following Monday by Sunset (Whenever that is for you ). Because this activity is supposed to encourage us to get out and shoot, please don't post old shots from your archives. Snapshots and art are equally welcome -- just get out & shoot, and then share!
2. Post your shots at any time during the week.
3. Post a maximum of two shots if you're uploading them to POTN (i.e., attaching them). You can post more than two if you're linking to shots that are not hosted by POTN (i.e. embedding them) but keep within POTN rules. Also keep within POTN rules about size. A copy of the size rules can be found here: IMAGE POSTING RULES
That's it! Have fun! As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for.
An index to previous weeks can be found here: POTN WORLDWIDE PHOTO WEEK INDEX

That's it!
Have fun!

Weather is cold and sometimes wet. I haven't got out much, so here's an indoor subject. Our Christmas tree this year is "distributed." Instead of a whole tree, we bought two sprays and used the branches to make three small arrangements.

In Los Angeles this past week end (actually the last two weekends).
This last week end was for the annual Oxy friends Christmas dinner and gift exchange.
We've been doing this for 25 years now and always look forward to it.

My name is Nala and I've had a long day. I'm nine weeks old and today I left behind my 5 litter mates to join a large family of humans that love dogs. I've been told it's Christmas Eve and I now belong to a 15 year old boy that lost his old Lab last summer, so I'm resting on this soft floor under a tree these folks have lit up with several pretty boxes underneath, may tear into them later and see whats inside. I've heard this boy has grandparents that live in the country where I can go run, play with their dog, swim, hunt for ducks and many other things that will be fun. The old guy in this family is a little different, looks through something a lot that puts out a bright light and makes a clicking noise, and keeps aiming it at me. So far I like it here, these people have played with me and given me so much attention I'm worn out.

The same spot will look like this after the holidays.

Right now, the spot looks like my first photo. I temporarily removed the arrangement to get a picture before the deadline.

We had a wonderful holiday, all 3 sons were here for a week with their partners.

I has become a family tradition to go on a snowshoeing adventure on Christmas Eve.

Dennis got a shaving kit for Christmas and cleaned up for an engagement photo a couple days after Christmas. It was -7 F for this one at sunrise.

Then, in the blink of an eye. everyone was gone. It helped a bit to get a lovely snowstorm the evening of New Year's Eve.
