Woot, my first Mexican Jay, formerly the Grey-breasted Jay.
Found in Chiricahua Nat. Mon. Actually they found us :) Like many Jays they
don't have a moral issue with trying to steal picnic food.

I've missed about 62 pages in this thread thanks to the holidays, but I had to come back to this one because it's a show stopper of an image. Mike, this is awesome because you nailed eye contact, the shot is nice and clear, great background, and you got birds doing something unique. Thumbs up from me, pal :)

Mocking Bird
Hooded Merganser

Couple of beautiful birds there.
The Mocking Bird is so clear and sharp and though not colourful like some has such detail and character to render colour superfluous

Thanks Richard. I have not seen my owls for a bit, spent a lot of time watching Brown goshawk chicks develop recently and they have now dispersed, never to be seen again.
I'll be back watching the owls soon and also a pair of Osprey.

Thank you Matt, for your very kind and generous comments. They are much appreciated. I know what you mean by missing so many pages of beautiful images. It's just impossible to make up. Sometimes if I'm gone for just a couple of day, it's tough to catch up even then.

LD, or Mike
Often mistaken, but never in doubt.
