LOL! He told me the same thing in a PM and I responded that I was keeping it as evidence.

I'd liek to move from single point af to face detect (those are the only two options I have enabled) but can't seem to find it. Grid, then M-fn but that two button presses already I have to press those, then the d pad to select the face detect then set. Four buttons to change the af type. With the 5D4 it was grid button, then the m-fn would cycle through the af types. Update: Wait, waaaait.... Hit the grid buttong, the the m-fn button, then keep pressing it to cycle. No other buttons required. You can set the change with the shutter button. All I had to do was hit the M-Fn button more than once, sheesh. You can also limit the selection of AF methods to just single point and face, so you'll be switching just between those two instead of scrolling through AF modes you're not going to use. (Update - you did say modes enabled, so you've probably already done this) Page 298 in the manual:

I find the normal AF frame size a little big and the small frame too small. I hope Canon introduces some additional customization for this with the next firmware. Nothing like the Af point size of the Dslr's I use to move that point over faces and see the focus depth of field move back and forth... Its kind of lost to me now using the R.. I find it a little harder to see right where focus is.. Although I can see whats in focus. I've even tried one shot and small myself... wish there was a customizable button for that one. lol Jeff ........, 7D, 70-300L, 100-400LII

I was really surprised at the lack of detail set for BBF or some equivalent mechanism to allow for instant switching between two or more completely different AF scenarios. This is such a highly regarded feature on several bodies I think it is a shame that it wasn't included on the R. I'm hopeful they'll do something with the AF point with the next firmware though.
