We're living it too. 24/7 5-7 days in a row. Noah would be building an ark here.

See any kayaks driving around on top of cars? I bet the back east boaters are loving it!

That sounds like a good app. I am a little bit nervous flying the drone with a non official app though. Maybe im just being daft but it seems a tad worrying to me :)

no worries for this app, its supported by dji, dji had to give litchi the rights to use their code and such, litchi has been around for awhile and was involved with dji during the phantom days

Quick question for the group.

I've agreed to shoot a wedding for a friend of mine in May. I'm getting paid, but I think I need to rent some gear for peace of mind since I would be nervous doing an "all prime" setup for a wedding with limited experience. I'm thinking of a few options.

1.) Rent: 24-70 GM and 70-200GM and swap lenses as needed. Risk is not having a backup body

2.) Rent 24-70 GM and 70-200FL lens and use the FL lens on my D500
advantage: no need to switch lenses
disadvantage: loss of eye AF, decreased low light performance.

3.) Rent 24-70GM and an a7III. This would give me a backup body and I could use my FE 85 and crop as needed.
Advantage: low light capability, eye AF, same "system"
Disadvantage: no 70-200 for candids and shots from a distance.

Which option would you go with? The venue is an outdoor wedding with indoor reception at an upscale country club.

Definitely the two body approach. You really don't want to be missing shots because you don't have access to right focal length at any given time. Everything else is secondary to that.

Thanks, that makes sense. I updated my original post with another option. Any thoughts on giving up the 70-200 and using a second Sony body instead of my Nikon?

Yeah I'd try to stay within the same brand of camera 8f possible. It's really jarring to switch between two systems side by side.

Whether or not 85mm would work depends on the venue. I shoot the majority of a given wedding on an 85mm/35mm combo, but if I need something longer or a wider because of the venues will keep the appropriate lenses handy

Thanks for sharing. I think I'll stick with an all Sony setup. Eye AF will also help me stay focused on composition. I'm a big fan of Eye AF for people shooting.

Besides the AT in Maine, Grandfather has some of the toughest hiking east of the Miss.River. I just hate paying to hike there :(
Beautiful capture Travis.

I have not done a lot of hiking there, but want to this year, weather permitting...last year it was too risky, really bad weather in the area most of the time.

Carlo has you covered...but I just want to agree...two bodies is a must...a good pair of zooms like the 24-70 and 70-200 can cover most of anything...

No prob. Eye AF may not always work if your subjects turn their heads so have the camera setup to quickly use selectable af points

I have my eye AF on a custom button and then have the camera setup for point selection when eye AF doesn't work, so I would just setup the second camera the same way.

Guys. I have the Manfrotto Off Road Hiker 30L

Lovely bag. Comfortable. Perfect size..... But, it doesn't have a dedicated way to carry a tripod.

There are two straps on the right side of it & also two underneath (where I guess you'd carry a tent/sleeping bag) but they are awkward pull tight straps rather than clip straps like on the Lowepro tripod mounts.

Any ideas for modifying? Attaching something else please? I know we've a few outdoor/hiking people amongst us so though I'd ask here first :)
