Definitely worth going Paul! :D Only nice thing about going when it's freezing is I was the only one there :D

Lol... I'd rather deal with the cold than humans.

Is there any place to park a car in the area?

Great to see good shots out of the old 400D/xti/kiss. I gave mine to a schoolboy who is also doing well with it, after throwing the Fuji I gave him in the sea! He was heartbroken. Lovely shot! Well done.

Thanks! The XTi is small and capable with its custom hack. I used a low quality Carl Zeiss Jena Domiplan 50mm f2.8 with M42 mount, stopped down and had a decent result.

I totally agree! LOL

Not that I know of. I walked from work and walked home.

I really like this look. What style or post processing technique would you call this?

As I look through these the photos I'm wondering what style many of these are? I love how they are super sharp and vivid. Are these HDR? If not, can anyone tell me what type of post processing is being done? I'd really like to learn how to produce images like these. Thanks and keep the great images coming!

I use ISO 100 and aperture f/6.7 or f/8 for night photos. This will require the use of a tripod since the exposure time will be seconds long. Also at night to prevent the highlights from being blown out, I use -1 to -1.5 exposure compensation to maintain the highlights. If that does not work, then I will use three exposures of 0, -2 and +2 exposure compensation and combine them in Photoshop in order to capture highlights and shadows.

Thank you! Are there any tutorials you recommend for combining the exposures in Photoshop?

Put in a YouTube search: combine exposures in photoshop, and more than 2 dozen tutorials will pop up.

I braved the cold last night and shot at the Hudson River Greenway. I was the only person out there beside the handful of runners :D I think it was worth freezing my butt off :D
