Presumably you're allowed to prune the tree. This would help with leaf and seedpod drop, too.

It's my neighbour's tree. He has offered to let me get a tree lopper in (it's a very big tree and the offending limbs are probably fifty feet up) provided I pay for it. The thing is, while we live in the suburbs, we're lucky in that most nearby properties (and our own) have plenty of trees and this means we get lots of varied birdlife, so I am reluctant to do anything that might reduce the local bird population and 'leafy' feel.

So I guess the many, many, MANY hours I have spent cleaning my deck and scooping gum leaves out of my pool is the price I have to pay in order to have birds and cicadas serenade us while we're out on the deck each morning with our coffee! :-)

5D3, 7D2, EF 16-35 f/2.8L, EF 24-105 f/4L, EF 70-200 f/2.8L II, EF 100-400 f/4.5-5.6L II, EF 1.4x III, Sigma 150mm macro, Lumix LX100 plus a cupboard full of bags, tripods, flashes & stuff.
