Its HDR bracketed shot. multiple exposures combined into one to get better lighting. i also darken the background to make sure the car can stand out... http://www.sergeygrey.com/

Usually a Mole RichardsonTHIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. Please log in to see the good quality stuff. ![]() ![]() Spot it up. Flood it out. Move it around until the highlights in the top & hood look good. IT REALLY HELPS to have an assistant do this while you watch from the camera position. 5. This is called a Flat. ![]() 2. Same as #1, except you're putting highlights in the side. Often we would hang black cloth along the bottom of the flat to kill the highlights in the side to darken the lower portion. It's all about the reflections, right? 3. This is a Inky, ![]() 4. This flat is usually a white painted 4' X 8' plywood, usually not lighted, & used to light the chrome & front end. 6. An overhead flat that can be raised, lowered, & tilted to help out the area covered by #5. TWO assistants will be needed to get the most out of it in the least amount of time. One or two lights from the sides are usually used on this. Pretty simple concepts! Except then you get a PITA prototype that has graphics & complicated paint that needs to be seen, so about half of this 'standard' lighting can't be used, like this 'Cuda in Post #22 There's a front view in post #1. Now you know why I like sunset shots so much. They're SO much easier! ; ) And here's a repeat of the studio images in post #22.
