Some offense, some defense from last night.

Pigpen - cool to see the shots that you got with the 50mm f1.8 STM. I have one of these and have thought of trying it for basketball.

What a lens for 100 bucks!!!! Definitely underrated, I think. You should give it a try. I was using the Sigma 17-55mm F/2.8 for under the net & the 70-200mm F/2.8 on a second body, but I just went FF & the Sigma is for crop sensor only. I'm saving for the 24-70mm, but in the meantime I need something for under the hoop. If you look back over the last couple pages of this thread you'll see I've been using it a lot. Last week at the PITT game a buddy of mine that shoots for USA Today said: "Using a 50mm? Old school, I like it." My response: "You kids and your new fangled zooms."

Started taking a few at the local high school games, prefer to take football but starting to warm up to basketball.

I agree with you, definitely prefer football but the season is only so long...……… Looking forward to the new football league & hoping Pittsburgh gets a team. I know they are looking at cities w/o NFL teams but also have to take into consideration if the city/town are enough into football to support a team.

One good thing about basketball...……………...n​o rain!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got soaked this year.

A few more from Saturday. This venue is the worst lighting I have to put up with. I understand this is only a Division lll university compared to covering NCAA, but I also cover 2 high schools & both of them have better lighting. They are in the Presidents' Athletic Conference & have been the champions of that conference 6 of the last 10 years. The football team sucks!!!

Is it me, or does the defender in the second shot look a little like a younger Trump????

Been giving the EOS R some run, even with its 4 FPS (Servo, Anti-Flicker and High Speed Continuous all on).

You can certainly see why Zion Williamson will be in the NBA next year. There were several scouts there last night. He's quick, has a jump shot, & is already the size of a linebacker. He seemed to of had a "quiet" game last night, then I looked at the final stats afterwards in the media room & he ended up with 25 points!!
