Is there seriously no thread for mutts, rescues, and canine bastards? No Island for unloved dogs?

One of 3 rescues, Alfred.
Dumped on a Kansas farm road. Discovered by a great LE officer who took him to a shelter in Great Bend Kansas. They vetted him and drove him 5 hours to me all for a donation and so he could have a good home for his little time remaining. He was in such bad shape they said he would be lucky to make it 2 months.

That was just over 2 years ago.

These are our three rescue mutts. The middle one was in her first two days at the house and the old guard was still uncertian of the new addition. Sadly the outside two have meet their maker over the last 18 months. They gave us 14+ years of joy.
Tomorrow we will be adding another rescue to our home and a new companion for Jaz.
Pictures to follow.

And now we have the newest member to our house. This is Charlie, yet another rescue and permanent member to the house. Although he looks big he is only 33lbs/15kg. Him And Jaz are doing spectacular together

The second of my 3 rescues.
Rubi, we found her abandoned in a state park while on a jeep off road trip. She was very thin and so scared because of obvious mistreatment yet overcame all of that to come crawling up to our campfire because of the food cooking. I let her have a choice of burgers and a couple hot dogs and told her if she was still there in the morning she was going home with me. We left the off road trip 2 days early to get her home and to a vet. That was over 10 years ago, she has been my velcro dog ever since. We do everything together.

What a great story. And a really good looking 'mutt'. How wonderful you found each other.:-D

Thanks she is a pretty girl and as far as the vet could figure out she is a mix mainly of Vizsla and Rhodesian ridge back...and a little other stuff.

I often ask her "Who rescue'd who here?"...as I am taking her petsmart to stare at the fish tanks and bird cages...her favorite pass time.

To everyone who has taken in these wonderful dogs and given them a loving home, even though they aren't "purebreads". THANKYOU.
Wonderful shots too btw.

Got stuff ;)

This is Lupe and we got her about 8 years ago in January when she was 10 weeks old. My wife is a teacher and a parent came to her and asked her if she would consider taking this little Chipoo as it wasn't working out for them and my wife's Cairn Terrier had just died a few weeks prior. I was on away on business and my wife agreed. I had always made it clear that I would never have any type of Chihuahua and never a "yipper" dog. She told me what was she had done, on a trial basis, and I grumbled to myself the entire flight home. Of course, within 15 or 20 minutes, she was curled up on my chest fast asleep and I was the one that was "owned" at that moment. She couldn't have been more than a pound or so and now she's a whopping 7 lbs. She is my constant companion, along with my GSP and sleeps next to me in the bed every night. I'm attached to this little mutt like I could have never imagined.

Cody got jealous that I was taking pictures of the cat, so I had to take his picture too. :-)
I would have gotten down on his level, but he tried to sit on my lap, so ... ;-)a
