Can you post a photo of the filter setup on the lens?

kinda surprised by that...I will have to check it out this weekend...

xpfloyd wrote in post #18793185 (external link)
Same for me. Just camera body now and no lens or exposure info! WTF?!

that is kinda lame...

one from JTNP that never got edited...with the 24TSE...looking forward to making images like this ratio wise on this trip...

Ultrawides can be sensitive to rotation, just the nature of the filter holder design, it's simply too thick at some angles.

If you're not using extra layers, then that's a simple limitation you'll have to deal with.

The Bombo holder was designed specifically to avoid this issue, still has issues when you rotate the CV 10, 12, and 12-24 , but those are much wider lenses.

Thank you! I got lucky with the light. I just kept exploring the area and knew this had some potential. Just had to wait for the light.

Cory, I'm dreaming of moving up to Idaho. Haven't even visited Boise and the region but my wife and I were talking that it would be a great place to raise our son. It would be a huge change for us but something about it is calling me.

Boise has been discovered and has really been growing. A lot of people from California have moved out this way. That said, it's still just a "small city". We've got a wonderful quality if life here. It's been fantastic place to raise our family. The kids love it. Many people are very active and outdoor minded. Of course with growth comes a variety of all types. We've been here for a long time. We live close to downtown and foothill trails. Bike commute to work if desired. Short 5 minute drive to the kayak/surf park. We don't really feel the sprawl. And of course within a short drive you can be into the mind blowing landscape of the Idaho backcountry. Let me know if you are ever planning a visit!

Thanks Cory! Sounds pretty amazing. My wife is an RN and I've read the area is good for healthcare. I am in IT so that will be a little tougher. Will see if I can find a job that supports remote work so I can work from home. Yes I'll let you know when we visit. Maybe in the Summer since we already have a trip lined up for Spring break.

Congrats!! 8-)

I too have a photo that is being published in an upcoming book; a National Geographic publication! I think it’s shipping next month if I recall correctly. The book title is 100 Dives of a Lifetime. Unfortunately it was an older photo taken with my 5D III and a TS-E 24 II in Charleston, SC. Still, pretty exciting getting in a National Geographic publication. :)

EDIT: Just peeked on Amazon and it’s showing a Feb. 26 release day. I’m thoroughly mystified as to how my photo will fit into that book.

Whoah! That's awesome David. Congrats!!

I've been out near you a few times. I have friends that live in Lake Elsinore and I shot a wedding in Menefee last March

sorry for bringing up old posts, I'm just getting caught up from Christmas lol

I used to live in your neck of the woods too, Stockton for five years. :-)

I've visited my sister when she and her husband lived in Coeur D'Alene and know that is beautiful country too. Later, they moved to Caldwell for a time.

i learned from Barry MacKenzie how to do color correction. the top was my old edit, the second was by following Barry's method. What do you think?

was that an online tutorial or one you had to buy...I have an image I am working on that has a wicked color cast that I am trying to reduce...

I discovered that the Mast General Store, the original in Valle Crucis, NC, has limited quantities of some classic gums, namely Beeman's, Black Jack and Clove. So, I bought some Beeman's and Black Jack for old times sake.

As soon as I opened one of the packs of Beeman's, a flood of childhood memories came back. :-)

I done something kinda similar the other day when I ordered wrigleys double mint from amazon. Hadn’t had it since I was younger and was hoping for a bit of nostalgia. It didn’t taste the way I remember it though but it’s now sugar free so that might be the issue.

I love the bombo holder for my 10. Not sure I shared the experience but the first one they sent didnt fit. They immediately sent another one out great service. It is sensitive to reflection of the lens sometimes but great to have for that wide angle.
