Boise has been discovered and has really been growing. A lot of people from California have moved out this way. That said, it's still just a "small city". We've got a wonderful quality if life here. It's been fantastic place to raise our family. The kids love it. Many people are very active and outdoor minded. Of course with growth comes a variety of all types. We've been here for a long time. We live close to downtown and foothill trails. Bike commute to work if desired. Short 5 minute drive to the kayak/surf park. We don't really feel the sprawl. And of course within a short drive you can be into the mind blowing landscape of the Idaho backcountry. Let me know if you are ever planning a visit!

I remember when Beaverton Oregon was a small undiscovered town... then the cali's moved in and whoa I am glad Im not in that area now.

I discovered that the Mast General Store, the original in Valle Crucis, NC, has limited quantities of some classic gums, namely Beeman's, Black Jack and Clove. So, I bought some Beeman's and Black Jack for old times sake.

As soon as I opened one of the packs of Beeman's, a flood of childhood memories came back. :-)

I love the bombo holder for my 10. Not sure I shared the experience but the first one they sent didnt fit. They immediately sent another one out great service. It is sensitive to reflection of the lens sometimes but great to have for that wide angle.

I still have the bombo around in case I plan on chopping the 12-24 and get that fitted. I'm really really considering it, bombo for beach shooting and zooms, xume for smaller prime setup (cv 21, fe 35/50, fe 85/200). I feel real good about my kits, and I havent shot any astro for ages, so I'm just going to pretend I didnt see Eddie's post :-P

I done something kinda similar the other day when I ordered wrigleys double mint from amazon. Hadn’t had it since I was younger and was hoping for a bit of nostalgia. It didn’t taste the way I remember it though but it’s now sugar free so that might be the issue.

Yeah, that might affect the flavor.

I didn't notice until I took the photo above that the gum was made in Morrocco. -? I haven't tasted it yet but it sure smells like I remember.

Oh, the newspaper is a print I just made and is from 1939.

About 2 mins after I posted that about the GM 24 I saw a 35 1.4 in eBay that was mint (guy posted receipt and it was bought April 18) and he said it’s not decentred so I put a bid in thinking i wouldn’t be winning and surprisingly I am. 24 hours left on auction so if no one else outbids me I’ll be the owner of the 35 1.4 even though I wanted the GM :). I’m blaming Carlo

GAS kicked back in for the 24GM again. I need to stop reading threads about it on forums. Thought I had things under control :)

Shhhhh SHHHHHHH dont make me look too.

Especially after this last DV trip for some reason I had the CV10 on more than the Lox 21...... I am so close to doing the 24GM.... Mo who owns Ace Photo says he sells them the day he gets them. Course he also told me to wait for the 60mp camera "soon"

Lol good luck with the auction!

I think you'll find it inferior to the rx1rii TBH. They render really similarly but the sonar is sharper...it just doesnt do f1.4

Quietly hoping I get outbid but I do want to try it at one point even if I sell it on afterwards. The rx1rii is a keeper

I had no idea they were so close to you. Here's the original Mast General Store (external link) in Valle Crusis. It looks like it might be an interesting place to photograph.

They have several stores and here's their website.
