Yeah stranger things. That is the funko pop of the character Eleven. I only just started watching it this year and already binge watched both seasons. Season 3 is out in june

Another show filmed here in Georgia. I absolutely love it and can’t wait for the next one.

Last year was weird in that a few of my favorites took the year off. GOT, Fargo, and Stranger Things.

Looking forward to the final season of GOT too (gutted it’s the final season). I’ll need to check out Fargo

Yeah, looking forward to GoT and ST and also The Expanse (not sure what kind of schedule they're on with the move to Amazon).

And at the other end of the spectrum, Brooklyn Nine-Nine was saved, too. Both great shows that deserve larger viewerships.

...and to not veer too far off, here's a 1.4 test shot with replacement 35 Distagon as I ran it through its paces earlier. :D

After a lull, it was a veritable camera-related bonanza today with two shipments arriving for me: a replacement lens and a new camera bag.

Backstory on the lens - In late Nov, I purchased a Zeiss Distagon 35f/1.4 ZF.2 from BorrowLenses.com. It all checked out upon receipt, but it developed a problem stopping down, mostly after f/5.6 - lots of friction with the aperture blades. Unfortunately, I didn't notice this (who stops down an f/1.4 very often?) until a few days after the warranty period had ended. Still, I contacted BL.com. After a bit of discussion, they not only agreed to have the lens fixed, they straight-up replaced it with the best D35/1.4 that they had on hand (which graded slightly better than the one that I'd bought). Awesome. Anyway, the replacement lens came today. Haven't had much time to play with it, but it seems noticeably better wide open and in the corners (it actually makes me wonder if the other was slightly de-centered).

On the bag front, I'd been looking at something for quick access and carrying one or two extra lenses. I ran across an Ona Leather Prince Street at REI - beautiful but almost 400 bucks. After browsing Amazon, I came across Basic Gear - looking at all of their products, there are only a few reviews, out of dozens, that aren't 5-star, so I took a chance. I'm happy that I did - it's a nice bag and it's about the right size (probably could have gone one size smaller, but thought it was dangerously close to 'purse' territory). The leather isn't quite as supple as the Ona, though it may get there as it breaks in, and it was less than a third of the price.

So nice for BL replacing your lens even after the warranty period.

Awesome looking bag. Great find.

The fog this morning made for a surreal, but gorgeous scene over Oso Bay, in Corpus Christi, Texas.

The expanse is amazing. Best sci fi since Battlestar.

I'm watching westworld right now. Great show

I think that this is by far my favorite image I have seen from you...the framing of those trees, the sweep of the arch, the tones, all of it...totally dig it.

Beautiful shot Robert! I do wish there was a bit more ground shown but still wonderful composition.

Beautiful.

For some reason, this reminds me of the cave seen in the movie "The Searchers" with John Wayne.

Forgot what I was going to say :(

Oh, I have a count down timer for Game of Thrones return on my phone :)

OK, now back to normal. And a friend at work who follows my Flickr and always scans EXIF saw I'm dabbling with Nikkor. He asked if I was leaving Sony!
This shot is my answer ha!

Simplifying my lens now to just 2. the 85GM and the upcoming 16-35GM. that's it. and the nifty fifty. it's hard to sell cheap lens. lol

I returned the Sigma 105. i thought i can stomach the size. it's ok shooting with it, it just so bully in the bag. he takes the whole space. lol

I also returned the TS 17 because I realized for my needs, it's only for the kitchen and doing fake tilt shift is good enough for me. when the time comes i'll get a break for architecture, i might get it again but now i can't justify.

Selling the 16-35F4 and the 35F1.4
