Egret with Catfish
Southwest Florida.
Excuse the poor lighting.
Happy trails:-)

Nice shots, look at that dorsal spike it's a wonder it doesn't pierce the Egrets stomach.

Thank you kindly.
The Egret was unable to swallow that Catfish.
It placed the fish on the ground and pecked-off tiny pieces, ingesting it in small parts.
Happy trails:-)

Wooowwwwwwwwwww.... top level photo. The color combo of the Anhinga(?) against the greens and blues is beautiful. The fine feather detail on the neck and head send it over the top.

Very poor lighting today and a distinct lack of bird activity, but I really pushed up the ISO because I believe the humble sparrow deserves some screen time. Well, not all our feathered friends can be colourful

I think this little Ruby-throated hummingbird fattened up too much at the feeder. Seemed to be having trouble achieving lift-off ! :p
