The moon was partially eclipsed for that shot. 10 minutes earlier it was mostly black.

OK. Is that in reference to shutter speed or AF?
Regarding "half way sharp', that's all you can expect at 1.6 seconds. The wind may have helped if it moved the equipment in the right direction.

Nice - what was the event that required the fireworks show?

Cheers

And as for you "two slot guys," did all of you guys just not shoot weddings until every camera you could buy had two slots, or did you not get into the business of shooting weddings until the hardware caught up in your eyes? Who in the world would dare even shoot weddings before you guys came along??!?!?!

Everything improves over time. Card SLOTS. Firmware. The cards themselves. Everything. Personally, I think two card slots these days is totally superfluous. How 'bout that?

Let's talk about that. Seriously.

It's like arguing about the crop in 4k. Makes great YT banter, but in the real world, it hasn't bothered me one bit, and it was probably the PRIMARY reason I held off so long on the R to begin with. Some things just end up not mattering.

I used to do weddings, had a second shooter using a one slot camera and the card stuffed up, we lost a heap of images, just saying. If im shooting family environmental images as a paid job the 5DIII has the duel cards in otherwise i never bother. But for paid work I understand the complaint. I expect the next model on from the R will have duel slots, cards may be improving but a friend had a rather expensive one stuff up on him just recently, so much so that he has complained to the brand about it.
