Looks great to me.
It’s definitely a great lens, just too bulky and heavy for my liking

It has a nice pop to it but 1.4 is def too shallow for these type of shots at this distance. Much prefer more dof on the face. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Super cute! I'm curious if the lighting is different for these shots for some reason? They all seem to have a bit of green cast to them on my monitor. A possible alternative would be the 35/1.4 zm (with filters to get rid of corner smear) + techart pro for autofocus. I've seen some really nice results with this and super small/compact. Unfortunately, also expensive.

Here's a quick edit I did on Callum for comparison where I tried to remove the green cast. Hosted photo: posted by navydoc in ./showthread.php?p=18796605&i=i247374386 forum: Sony Digital Cameras In the photo of Callum I noticed the green cast myself, combination of green walls and cool white led lights. The ones of Isla shouldn’t have it though as different room and lighting. I’ll doubke check them tomorrow. Could just be a poor edit on my part. I should really invest in a monitor calibration device Leica M11 | Leica Q2 | Sony α7RV

I have the Rokinon 14mm, but sometimes the distortion and lack of filters kills what I'm aiming for. I already have 77mm ND filters so that goes in favor of the 17-40. I'm not looking to spend more than $400 or so and AF speed doesn't matter at all. I would love one of the native 16-35s, but they are just too far out of budget.

That’ll work just fine for landscapes. I’d prefer even the Canon EF 16-35mm f/4L IS (used for $700ish), but if the 17-40mm fits your budget better then it’s a great solution. David | Flickr

Yeah just saw the write-up, can't say I have ever had an issue with the lens and my A7R3, I shot with it through the Christmas holidays fairly extensively without any issues. Might wait a bit for the dust to settle before I update it. Sony A1, A7R2

The 17-40 was the first Canon L that I ever purchased way back in the day when I had just purchased my first digital Canon body, I had it for a number of years and only replaced it when I started to move to Zeiss primes primes. For Landscape use I really liked it, not as fast obviously as the 16-35 Ls of that era but I thought it was pretty good especially when stopped down. Sony A1, A7R2
