Testing out my "new-to-me" Nikon D700 camera. Here in South Texas, many of our trees have leaves on them year-round. This tree is from my front yard, with the backlit sky.

Mightily impressed with this D700!

very striking.
Love the glow effect of the leaves smattered across the paddock.
The whole scene is beautiful

I love these old gnarled and hollowed trees that stand for years, defying the odds.
They develop much character
Very nice

Two weeks after I took this pic, the ocean had taken enough sand that the tree has fallen over. It is still living, but will never look like this again.
