That's a great age to start with the Strider!

A big critique would be why black? It's such a dark background for a fun subject.

No real reason; it’s just what I had on hand. It was more of a spontaneous, cold day activity than a planned shoot. I do agree that something lighter would fit the subject better.

Thanks

Although I don't do a lot of portrait work (although would like to expand to doing some in that area), I did this photo of my daughter today, for a project she is working on.

Photo taken at Violet Andrews Park, in Portland, TX.

Another nice example of why I kept my 85mm 1.2 ii instead of selling it to fund an EOS R. Such a nice lens, I decided to do enough extra work so I could keep it around.

The colors really came out beautiful in that photo.

Thank you! I am so happy I bought this lens. Although I don't use it just a whole lot, it is THE portrait lens for my "go to". I will never let this gem go!

I bought a 5d4 a couple of months back and it pretty much does what it says on the tin however..........

I was led to think it had the same AF system as my 1dx2 but it really does not seem as quick or reliable when used with like for like lenses.

Is it just me or is the 1dx2 known to be quicker?

Even my 1dx 1 is alot faster.
The higher voltage on the 1d series battery ,drive autofocus faster.

Not just you - the 1DX2 has a much better and accurate AF system.

I think for the time it was released, the mkiv had a pretty crappy af system.
