i found nothing going through the menus for the ISO to jump at 1600 randomly. Weird but we will see if it happens again next time i use it

Just ran across a thread in Dpreview. Looks like it might be talking about the same type of issue.

Btw guys did Jarred Polin just kill the 6d2 and 5d4 with this checkmark review.. Lol i don't buy in to this review stuff too much but I thought it was funny after all the bad publicly of the R. Check it out

I'm not a fan of his reviews (or his channel in general), but I watched that today and found myself wanting an R. Probably not going to happen (I'm too invested in another platform), but the R sure looks like a fantastic camera to me. :)

I'm a little confused about your question - are you meaning moisture on the LCD touch-screen or the camera sensor that records the photo?

If it is the LCD, then I can say that moisture on the touch-screen on my M5 does send the camera into a bit of confusion with what focus-point is being selected so I'd expect the R to behave similar.

Yes, more like the outer surface of the sensor (not the inner sensor). But what you said about the touch screen could be what I'm experiencing. There were moisture droplets on the back touch screen and where the sensor is near the EVF. So for all I know it could have just been drops on the touch screen.

My advice is to rent it before making the investment and come up with your own self review to see if this camera is for you.. Of course this if you are really considering this camera.

thanks again for this. A lot of Information there and possible ways to work around it. I'm going to set the auto ISO limit to 200 that way I can still use the shots.. Great find..

bw!

No problem at all. I do not have an R but I have been following this thread for a while and just happened to see the other thread today.

I am so close to clicking the checkout button for an R and the new RF50. I will be in Italy and the Med for 17 days in May and really thinking the R would be a lot of fun, along with the new RF50 of course :-)

I can take Jared or leave him, but I usually watch his stuff and compare it to my own findings at least. I watched it as soon as he posted it today and yeah, he pretty much toasted the other two. He was also emphatic on a couple of occasions to mention that this was all intra-Canon and these wins wouldn't be so easy had some other models been included.

Do you have some EF glass to use with an EOS R if you buy one for your trip?

Free app called “Plane Finder”. Uses your phone or tablet gps to present map,and show what planes are overhead. Very cool app, give all sorts of info.

Here is a screen shot for one of the posts...

I just received my EOS R but I cannot open RAW files in Photoshop CC. It says it is the 'wrong type of document.' How is everyone opening up RAWs from this camera?

It seems you have an old version of ACR (PS). Try to upgrade. I normally open the raws from R both in Photoshop, and in Capture One, and in Silkypix.

Seems like using 3rd party lights or maybe transmitters that may be causing this Auto Iso issue. Here Travis briefly explains it but i was not having to "wrestle" with my camera like he says he was. It is annoying and i took advice from the DP forum user to set the Auto Iso max at 200 as a "way to work around it" i am also going to ask in the Godox X1 thread to see if others are having this issue..

I use Flashpoint lights (Adoram branded Godox) - haven’t had any problems. However when I am using lights I set a specific ISO and don’t use auto
