Hehe yes I fall in and out of phases where documenting them is a priority with my photography. I need to stick with it, as I've learned with my eldest just how fast they grow up and how important it is to capture these while I can because they're over too soon!

Very wise.

yeah, I need to do better...I need to carry a camera with me more often...mine is half way through being 7 now, and some days I look at her and she seems to old to be my kid...

The basketball pictures the "pro" did this year for the teams were  cringe worthy...white balance was miles off, and the individual of my daughter, her face was OOF...like a lot...so we sent them back and got our money back and last night I did our own. It was my first time trying to shoot in a dark gym. Does the modeling light on the AD200 not work if you are using the bare bulb? Despite it being pretty dark, the a9 "point & shoot" still managed to obtain focus in what had to be the darkest setting I have ever tried to use AF in...

The Game Face...

She has become a force to be reckoned with on the court this year, the tallest of all the girls on the three teams...and has scored a ton of points...the last game the other team double teamed her to keep her from scoring...it worked...but she learned from it.

Nice look at what I presume is the snow topped eastern slopes of the Sierra Nevadas as a backdrop too.

Thank you Gene. Yes I believe those are the Sierra mountains. I think that's Telescope peak.

From what I have read, Telescope Peak is not part of the Sierra Mountain Range. It is part of the Panamint Range. Mount Whitney over by Alabama Hills is in the ESM, but the range bordering Death Valley is not part of the ESM.

I spent a lot of the trip trying to put that peak in the images, because for the most part, I had not seen it represented in many images.

So I had the 45 TSE and 24 TSE with me on the DV trip...and while neither got used a lot, I was glad I had them. On two occasions I used the 24TSE to do something a bit more abstract/creative..both times the light was not epic but I didn't want to just stand around...so for this one I played with shallow DoF, and tilt opposite the direction of the tilt of the camera...so its tilted and shifted, 3 landscape frames shifted up and down. I rather liked the result too...yes, the horizon has some tilt and arc to it, and I left it that way...it exaggerated the feeling of the image...I looked at correcting it and TBH it didn't look right...

Very cool. Turned out well.

I didn't think about doing a stitch with tilt.

Thanks, I kinda liked the final result, I have not done that before...heck, I have only really messed with the tilt function a couple of times...this was just experimentation...
