looks like you can get a new Grip in Fleabay for 349 --- i'd like to get one but waiting for it to go under 300

really interested in the usb-c charger that is included

If the newly rumored DUAL CARD body is announced like in February, for this year, are you going to get that body too, or just stick to what you have?

I'm not buying any grips or chargers, but if I was, I'd be curious if the bodies take the same grip and accessories.

I hope it takes the same grip/accessories because we will see the price come down and maybe 3rd party grips.

I would not go out of my way to change my body due to it having 2 card slots. I do not care --- now if it has some other cools tuff... maybe

I backed out its just too much.. I hate the feeling of this camera without a grip. It feels like my 550d without it grip with my pinky finger flying free.. I guess I'll deal with it for a few more months..

Realizing Canon had to spend a huge wad on the design and tooling for manufacturing, I'm guessing one reason for the spendy battery grip is on account of the battery being the same as the 60D, 80D, 5D mk ii, 5D mk iii and 5D mk iv. A lot of people buying the EOS R probably have extras of the same battery and didn't need to order extra batteries or chargers. I have almost a dozen extra batteries.

Some people said the EOS R was overpriced, but after using it, I think it was priced right or slightly under priced.

After removing grips from my 5D mk iii and 5DS it felt weird at first, but now it feels normal and comfortable. Considering I carry at least two bodies in my backpack, without grips I found how to carry 3 bodies now with lenses attached. With room for more lenses.

The EOS R certainly feels smaller like you said. I still have an M5 (for sale) and it's so compact, it may be what makes the EOS R seem normal too.

Went out for a walk in our local forest and took the EOS R / RF 24-105mm F4 L IS combo as I consider it to be lightweight and compact compared to my now gone 5D Mk III / EF 24-105mm F4 L.

I saw a few wasps swarming around a tree trunk so I inched closer and managed to grab a few shots before my nerve gave out.:-)

I had to apply approx. 40% dehaze in Camera Raw to tighten up some fuzzy OOF stuff going on but was very pleased with how this lens performed at close focus and almost wide open.

Cheers

Dennis

Decided to update my “family” portrait. A few bad decisions along the way but pretty happy with where I am now.
