Cute pup. Curious though, I thought those Sony cameras were supposed to be low-light beasts? Reminds me of my old 5d at 1600.

I dont think its noise you are seeing, more like the lens character if anything, looks fine to me.

No. It's either compression or something to do with saturation. It is excessively grainy for 1600, but the grain looks ok (like my X100), and that's not what I'm talking about. I must be the only one that can see it.
My 6D does atrocious things with magentas, but most people don't see that either. Must be me. :-)

After looking more closely, I see som purplish blotchy spots on the couch. Mostly the back, but also the front of the cushion. Noise doesn’t seem to be an issue on the pup. Maybe some compression artifacts or possibly weird effect from the fabric? Is it a microfiber by chance?

So I found the trick to getting a good pic of my camera shy Aussie “Sheila”.

(For context)...

She is a total mooch when it comes to chips and as I was snacking I noticed I had her undecided attention so I decided to try and “bribe” her to pose. It seemed to work, but introduced another problem when it comes to timing the shot...

But in the end, it worked!

Her beautiful blue eyes were one of the things that drew me to her. They have gone to more of a silver blue as she has aged. Turns 13 this year, and yes VERY smart.

Shots from the day we brought her home..
