Spent the day with the cv40 doing what I said I wouldn’t do - taking photos of the family I.e fast moving kids. Whilst the miss rate is high I’m really loving the lens. When I do nail the shots the images look great. This one is a keeper!

Thanks for your thoughts. It looks like I won't need to get another 50~mm for the sake of 0.4 aperture :P I will choose smoother bokeh over sharpness since having no AA filter already helps in that field. and the best thing is it is smaller and lighter hehe.

been awhile since I took an image so I took the effort to wake my butt up this morning. not very pleased with it but it was nice to be out shooting.
QUOTED IMAGE

Yes the 55mm is amazing; especially for its size. My main reason for getting the bigger one is I just hated cleaning up all the radioactive loca. That’s pretty much a non-issue on the big FE 50.

You need an a9. Set a focus point then just move around holding the shutter button down. :)

That is indeed an awesome lens I’d like to own myself. It’s everything the Loxia 35mm should have been: superb wide open and amazing for landscapes.

How does it compare to the rx1rii?

I get crazy cv40 thoughts every one in a while.

Yeah it works great, I’ve lost 10 pounds since jan 2nd. Probably got about 10 more to go. It becomes difficult if you drink (alcohol) but I’ve not this year yet so that I can lose the weight. The beauty of it is you never feel hungry. Robert (medicineman) does keto too full time I believe.

Edit - you can drink white spirits as they are low carb. Gin etc

Yes I do.
the better-half is almost paleo :)
Grilling steak and steaming asparagus as I type.

When I get to work tonight, as in all nights, crap twinkie type food always on the table in the break room.
I whip out my rubbermaid box of raw brocoli, cauliflower, celery, etc. ...must have fiber.
Dinner will be a pork chop, low carb cole slaw and breakfast is a Dang bar.
Snacks are pork rings (hot and spicy) and 1 ounce of mixed nuts predominantly pecans.
Treat snack is coconut shavings baked=yummy.
Pecans are very similar to the HMCo-A reductase inhibitors for lowering the bad lipoproteins.

Lot's of coffee. I'm always cold.

Yesterday was a session on the total gym, day before treadmill, constantly alternating the two. Good days walk outside....

Unfortunately, I like eating warm breads too much. Or how about an English muffin smothered in butter?:-)

I wish I had your will power!

Rx1rii still wins imo. AF probably the main factor in that. The cv40 at f/2 is superb though, haven’t really fully tested faster than that. I can’t quite explain why but it’s an addictive lens

Fibre is def something to watch on keto. I take a soluble fibre supplement. Glad you mentioned mixed nuts, I love them! Also love crunchy peanut butter. Love the fact that keto allows me to eat a lot of them. With regards to coffee I start every day with a keto coffee (500ml water, two instant coffees, 14g of coconut oil and 28g of butter. I run all that through a hand electric blender to make it smooth.) That keeps me going until lunch time.

The struggle is real. I LOVE breads. That’s what I miss the most. I’ll make the kids toast with butter and have a sneaky half slice here and there to keep the sanity

Portion control + exercise is what works best for me. Simple math...calories in - calories out = weight increase/decrease. Lately I've been prioritizing performance in the gym so it's sort of changed my relationship with food....as in it isn't something I need to have a negative relationship with...its simply fuel for exercise, so I start craving nutritious stuff.

What I think is most beneficial to this approach is that it does allow a lot of leeway to eat bad food occasionally. Basically most of my meals are to support exercise, but strong performance in the gym gives me enough of a deficit that the social eating that happens a couple times of a week isn't a big deal. It makes things less difficult mentally, and since long-term consistency in the key, I've found that this has been the most effective way for me.

I too love burgers, pizza, and butter chicken +naan too much, so I need to get a little bit of that in for my own sanity. Cutting those out completely is a recipe for failure for me lol

I definitely agree about being more active in the gym makes the unhealthy food less appealing to you.

Although I literally only eat foods like pizza 4 times a week, it's all home made so a lot healthier compared to take away ones.

Yeah I find having those unhealthy meals at least once a week is a good reward and really helps motivate you to be more healthy and exercise more.

Really? Damn. The Pentax K1 has that feature and it's one of the things that made me think about that body (before deciding that I didn't want another SLR :P). I wonder why focus tripping the shutter isn't more common? You'd think that it could be added via firmware...

Wait until your metabolism slows down. Up until I was 45 years old, I had to eat all day just to maintain my weight. At 6' tall, I weighed 135lbs through my time in the US Navy and until age 26. I worked out with weights for three months and gained 30lbs. From that point until age 45, I stayed at 175lbs. Once I hit 45, I began to slowly gain weight until I wound up weighing 204lbs which is about what I weigh today.

I'm honestly terrified of the day my metabolism slows down. I do everything I can to keep my body healthy like no drinking or smoking, I sleep 10:30 at the latest every day including weekends.

My weight has fluctuated over the years but mainly because of lazyiness and poor dieting, like having two desserts every day with no exercise. I've managed to stay around 80kg area for a few years now but wouldn't mind putting on a few more kgs of muscle.

I injured my back about 5 years ago which made both exercising and photography very difficult but these days I thankfully have no problems aside from the odd day I sleep badly.

I was just making a joke about leveraging the a9’s 20fps to get some in-focus action shots with an MF lens via the spray-n-pray technique. :p

Focus tripping would be an awesome feature though!

My experience (with my own body, which may be different from yours) is that mindless eating tends to make me 20-30 (10-15kg) pounds overweight. If I pursue a mindful strategy where I keep track of what I eat, I can easily maintain a 160 pound (73 kg) body mass by eating about 2200 kCal / day. I'm pretty active, 15,000 steps / day and ~30 minutes with heartrate > 130 bpm. I am 45 years old.
