I was just making a joke about leveraging the a9’s 20fps to get some in-focus action shots with an MF lens via the spray-n-pray technique.

Focus tripping would be an awesome feature though!

Ahhhh! Yeah, I guess that works, too, with big enough of a memory card.

Channeling my inner Ben Horne for this shot of a wash in Death Valley. The sky held some promise as we waited for sunset. I found this S curve along the wash and setup my composition to include the cracked mud tiles in my foreground.

Thanks David. Yes I believe it was shot at 16mm at f11.

My experience (with my own body, which may be different from yours) is that mindless eating tends to make me 20-30 (10-15kg) pounds overweight. If I pursue a mindful strategy where I keep track of what I eat, I can easily maintain a 160 pound (73 kg) body mass by eating about 2200 kCal / day. I'm pretty active, 15,000 steps / day and ~30 minutes with heartrate > 130 bpm. I am 45 years old.

Yes I stopped the mindless eating several years ago. I reached 93kgs with no muscle (this was after injuring my back and no exercise) and vowed to myself that I would not let myself get that heavy again. It's good to hear you are able to maintain the health lifestyle

Sorry if this has been asked before but what Metering Mode does everyone shoot in?

I have left mine on Multi and never touched it but I did notice when shooting in M, the camera will say it is perfectly exposed (0ev) although it does appear dark in both the RAW/JPEG files. Below is an example.

Plays with my brain. The Spider Rock is straight/vertical; yet the horizon isn't level But we had good weather while there
and for that I'm thankful. Often too much blue sky there....never thought I'd say that living here but you know what I mean.

These are JPEG SOOC. The top image is in multi mode at 0EV and the bottom is entire screen average at 0ev.

As you can see the bottom image is brighter and more properly exposed IMO. I did get a highlight zebra warning for one of the OOF cologne bottles (the black and silver one behind CK One) so I'm not sure if multi tries to prioritze and save the highlights as its top priority.

Has anyone else noticed this?

I shoot in “highlight” metering with positive EC dialled in. It’s like an auto ETTR.

It is an amazing lens, especially for the price. IMO this and the Tamron 28-75mm are two amazing lenses for cheap. They are arguably better than anything you can get for the same price on Canon (maybe Nikon too but I don't really know much about their lenses).

Beneficial for all shooting. It meters for the highlights and then you push it 1-2 stops depending on how backlit it is. That way the highlights are not blown but you also have clean shadows. I have mine setup so that when the EC dial says 0 it’s actually +1 so that I don’t need to move it a all the time (when saving the M positions in the memory you can add on EC through the settings). I then add a bit on for the shots that require it
