How do you find the size and AF? Is it native or Adapted?

I had one on my a7rIII. AF worked really well and its super sharp wide open.

That lens is just massive.

Polar votex and heavy blowing snow vs A7III...

No problems

Also man the 70-200 f/2.8 OSS focuses -fast- and lets the A7III rip... I was accidentally over shooting and filling the buffer up which i cant do with my other lenses...

It is pretty big but smaller than the 105mm f/1.4 or 200mm f/2 :-P

I'm hoping the Sony 135 will be similar to their 24 G Master, I love that lens too!

To me the thing that puts me off about the Sigma lenses is their added size over the EF versions. If Sigma had made true FE mount versions and not just adapted ones, they may be a more reasonable size and I would probably get the 35mm f/1.4 and 135mm.

I agree, sigma apparently just built in the MC-11 into the lens, making a big lens even bigger!
Thanks! I got lucky on the 24 GM, walked in to buy the 12-24, tried both and walked out with the 24 GM!

I think they did change some things as the AF is meant to be quieter on the E mount versions right? I really want that Sigma 35mm but for this body but the size is just a huge put off.

Very lucky they had stock, it seems to be out everywhere here. By any chance do you usually use 35mm? I love 35mm but I'm very tempted by this 24mm GM.

It's possible, I'm hoping it's not just a built in MC-11 :-P but it does work better than my Canon mount with MC-11, more consistent and more predictable.

I rarely use 35mm, I'm usually at 85 or more, used to not enjoy 50mm but now I shoot with 24, 55 and 135 (and 70 macro). The store I got my 24 from has only gotten 1 other one since apparently

I'm surprised no one has done a teardown of the lenses to see how they're different! I keep hoping Tamron will release some native primes for E mount already.

It seems they are hard to get here in Aus too. The 24mm lens seems almost perfect when it comes to size, weight and usability.

New to a camera with Focus Peaking. How does it work on something like manually focusing and shooting the moon? We're presently in the midst of a driving snow storm or I'd try it and answer my own question.

I'll be joining the club next week as I ordered my A7 III today from greentoe. Which lens adapter do you recommend for my Canon lenses? I'm going to rent one before buying Sony lenses.

Congrats!

Depending on what lenses you have is what adapter will work best. For me the MC-11 did a great job even with Canon lenses.
