Spent a few hours at one of my local National Trust places, Charlecote Park. Wasn't expecting the Great Tits to be nesting yet - must get the bird box out of the shed and set up. Saw a nuthatch as well.

It's not uncommon for bird boxes to used as occasional or even habitual roosting sites outside of the breeding season. That's not to say this isn't a nesting bird as they're pairing up here and starting to squabble over nest sites. It's not a great tit though, it's a bluey.

This guy is new... Anyone know what kind of bird? Similar markings to a Nut Hatch, but much larger, about same size as the female Red Wing Blackbirds
