I'm unsure, when Ive cropped to get a similar viewpoint the megapixels then become lower. Im talking soft in print which is what Ive found. I cant print as large and details look soft. If uncropped the full frame image is awesome
One consideration is that, as exemplified in prints made from film, that the detail resolution in the final print needs to exhibit at least 5 line-pairs per millimeter (of print) in order for viewers to perceive that print as 'sharp'.
Translate that into pixels and you need at least 11 pixels per millimeter of print or about (assuming Nyquist correlation of pixels:detail) 128 pixels per inch of print.
