Weather's been a bit rubbish where I am, my first attempt at Orion all season.

Taken from the backyard in Bortle 6 light pollution and crescent moon in the sky.

These are getting ridiculous. I went from pages 2-3 to 147 and come on. Why not just rename this thread "You just need a tracking mount" ?

^ Must have used a special astronomical filter for that one. Or the wrong thread. Either way, I like it.

I have no idea what we are looking at here.......

In some ways it looks like something on Earth to me, not something in outer space.

There are several pigeons, some with strong shadows, and other objects. Title is "columbia constellation"; the pigeon genus is Columba, which is close. The background resembles gas clouds and stars. Maybe it's a composite, or maybe postprocessing made something Earthly look spacey.

I hate you Southern Hemisphere people and your damn skies!

J/K... spectacular shot! Any filters to remove city light pollution?

Gear List

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.
