Looks good! Hand-held?

Thank you and yes handheld. I handheld about 95% of my trip. The hills where the Quetzal was tough to setup a tripod in time. At times I was even laying on the ground to get the angle through the foliage.

I suppose you checked for army ants before getting on the ground! The 400/2.8 looks like a terrific lens, very tempting, but I would not be able to handle the weight.

Foggy morning coming home from work, this guy caught my eye as I drove past. Surprised he was still there by the time I turned around and came back.

A ways away and all I had was my new M4/3 outfit, came out better than I expected...

I think this was a Red Shouldered Hawk. Caught a glimpse of it eating out our back window. Didn't want to get to close and scare it off losing a meal.

I've got hundreds of waxwings these days feeding on our ash trees. Noticed this one has only one leg. Seems to be doing just fine.

What? There are ants in Costa Rica, never would have guessed  They are everywhere, no matter where you look there are ants. Smart of you to realize that now about the weight then lose money on a lens that would not bring you any fun to use. The best gear are the ones that bring fun into the hobby, no matter the size or brand.
