On the edge of going supersonic, Major "Loco" Lopez sheds compression waves as he demonstrates the famous F-22 high-speed pass. Probably woke those birds up pretty fast.

Really nice! Do you use a polarizing filter to enhance the different densities of the air? That almost looks like a Schlieren image or a shadowgraph. I'd like to know where the light was coming from relative to the F-22.

No filters, aircraft was seconds from passing in front of the sun. Air was very cold and crisp with low humidity. Everything came together.

This was the Wings over Wairarapa airshow in NZ.

Most of the WW1 aircraft are either from Hood aerodrome in Masterton, or Omaka (Peter Jacksons collection) I think

Probably had about 12 from WW1 up in the air all up. Usually about 6 up doing formations/dogfights etc
