Is she on the list to be scrapped Paul?

Yes, she'll be dismantled. But She'll rise again as a new Gerald R Ford class aircraft carrier! :-)

Is that right ? Wow, do you know what gets re-used ?

Edit: Ok, I think I misunderstood. Based on the Wikipedia article, it's the name (John F. Kennedy) that will be re-used for the new carrier,

I see that there are several groups trying to get her back on the 'Museum List'.

I hope they do. Even though she has been sitting dormant, and is "small" compared to the Nimitz Class, and even smaller compared to the new Gerald R Ford Class Carriers, she is still an impressive sight .

Very nice! Well done. Superb alignment and background sky. 10 out of 10 for that picture.

Were you on shore or on the ocean?

Thanks Ray. These ships are part of the Navy mothball fleet. They are moored at the Navy Yard in Philadelphia. The only shot I had on them was from the far side of the docking basin.
