The Yard Lions are essentially barn cats. Near feral. They live outside 100% and mostly feed themselves. I supplement them when they're small and when they're numerous. These are version 3.0 of the Yard Lions, as we've had 3 generations now. Most of us in the country side have vast fields, my fields are bahia grass that we bale. These barn cats suppress the local mice. I leave them intact and we are carrying on generation to generation with them. They're all descendants of the same mother actually. I make sure they have a place to hold up when it's raining, cold, too hot, etc, and have additional food & water when the season is low (such as our winter).
Here's the previous generation, Yard Lion II, Lola. She was visiting today, found her 5 acres away near a wood's edge. She's got a full coat and very healthy.
