Mar 05, 2019 12:18 | #26702 David Arbogast wrote in post #18823402 ![]() Anyone here convert their raw files to DNG? I know this is a big NO! for some, but I've been using Adobe stuff from the mid-90s, so I am setting aside fears of dng being a potential proprietary format and am converting to dng. Not only that, but I'm using the 'lossy' options for 99.9% of my photos because it saves a massive amount of file space. Thing is, any degradation from the conversion is unimportant since I'm retaining my fully edited TIF files. Going forward this is my workflow: 1. Import/Copy .ARW raw files into LR 2. Edit any keepers (save as layered PSD) 3. Publish jpegs 4. Export edited PSD files as TIF (delete the PSD files) 5. Convert raw files to lossy dng. Any exceptional photos (an extreme rarity for me) will be converted to non-lossy dng. I always convert to dng during import. Maybe I shouldn’t? - Alfredo -

Normally I would be taking my AF lenses (for the kids) but thinking about just leaving them at home and going fully manual. Currently thinking CV15, Lox21, CV40. Its an odd feeling deciding on a kit and considering a full manual setup! On the flip side though my 24GM will have arrived by then so I am a bit torn CV 15, 24GM, CV40

I normally use messenger bags but kind of bored of them now and the way they swing about if you lean over. Tried the peak everyday sling 5L and it’s too small for me. 10L seemed slightly too large but it’s the best thing I’ve found so far so may go with it. I have backpacks too but want something relatively small so that carrying photo gear doesn’t become the main focus of the trip Anyone have any other suggestions? I do have another messenger that hangs slightly similar to a sling Sony A7siii/A7iv/ZV-1 - FE 24/1.4 - SY 24/2.8 - FE 35/2.8 - FE 50/1.8 - FE 85/1.8 - F 600/5.6 - CZ 100-300 - Tamron 17-28/2.8 - 28-75/2.8 - 28-200 RXD

Like the expanding function, works well when I need to add cloths. A notch up in size compared to the Peak 5L adding a backpack, two small kids can get the bag crowded, and I dont like my current dedicated backpacks, too camera oriented, wanted something that can work as a normal backpack, big enough to haul kids stuff, yet have some camera room, not a lot. looked at the lowepro photo hatchback 16L, wandrd prvke 21L, and fstop Dalston 21L. I picked the dalston for reasonable price and simplicity. For close trips, I dont have to bring baby supplies, however for longer outings, I need to bring a lot. Currently, I just shove everything into a normal backpack, a proper with partitions is what I would like. Wandrd Prvke would be my second choice, the lowepro and logo, not digging too much. finding the perfect bag is like the finding the perfect lens ![]() Thanks Charlie I’ll check them out, and yes it is as troublesome as lens decisions!!
