Did the 16 year old survive? I sure hope so.....

He did not, his body landed about forty feet North of his bike.

In this shot a reporter from WPBT is begging to be allowed on the right of way to do a live shot with the body in the background, the FEC Railway Police Sergeant basically told him to get off the ROW or he would place him under arrest for trespassing.

So much for the reporters aspirations to have that award winning news clip.

Notice the Boca Raton officer glaring at me, I was literally about 180 feet away, well off the ROW with a 300mm lens, by the way if the shot looks grainy, it is, the Kodacolor 400 I was shooting with wasn't exactly a fine grain film.

Ouch!

Trains will ALWAYS win!

Most of the time that is true, but not always.

Yes you are correct.... I also have pictures of a train wreck in our area from 1980.

I do apologize for the poor quality of these photos.

I debated posting this one for a few weeks now. It was unfortunately a fatality accident.

By the way it went to the right it looks like it picked a switch point.

That was believed to be the cause of the wreck I posted.

I am guessing you are a railroader? My father was a railroader, but I never was so I did not learn the lingo.

I wish I could remember exactly where this wreck took place, but sadly all I know is that it was local from the one photo of the local TV station camera person, channel 16, WNDU (Notre Dame University)

Here is a picture of my brother driving that same locomotive back in 2005.

No sir I am a semi-retired AT&T wireless technician, I am also in the railroad world what is known as a foamer, that is to say when I see trains, my mouth begins to foam and I have to constrain myself to not lay between the rails and photograph one as it pass's over me.

It's an evil virus, one starts out taking unprotected snap-shots and then once addicted years later ends up begging for cab rides, in any locomotive, be it moving or not. (-;

I understand for now there is no cure for me, so while I still keep my Canon DSLR in the truck, I added a JVC GY-HD200 camcorder with a DTE drive to suppress the effects of my addiction.
