Started using Capture One this past weekend. The only thing I'm really missing from Lightroom is the sharpening mask. I'm having a hard time cleaning up the noise in my high ISO images without it. In LR, I could usually use the mask to get some decently sharp edges and get away with some liberal noise reduction to smooth out the background. Any tips or tricks on how to do proper noise reduction and sharpening in Capture One?

I would like to get into something like this. Would be fun for my kid. Any recommendations? I have heard they can get expensive.

The 2WD Traxxas Slash (truck in picture I posted) is a good starter truck. Pretty robust and cheap / easy to repair. Many of the kids race them in the novice class at our track and they have a "box stock" class for them as well with very limited modifications. Keeps it financially sane yet fun and competitive. You can get them ready-to-run (pre-built with radio). If you ever decide to go deeper into the rabbit hole, I recommend to check the used market on rctech - https://www.rctech.net …/r-c-items-sale-trade-16/ (external link). Lots of good deals to be had there, especially if it's a generation off. The RC racers are much like us photographers, lots of GAS :)

Made the switch to Capture One this past weekend and trying to salvage some photos that I was never happy with in Lightroom. This is Fort Sumter taken from the beach at Fort Moultrie in Charleston, SC. Not exactly sure why I didn't stop it down a bit and drag the shutter out since I had a tripod with me. Oh well, hindsight.

Eastern State Penitentiary

I tried playing with a different editing process for this one. First did my usual edits in CO, then exported as a PNG to ON1 to remove some people and exit signs and add a more gritty look to it. I should play with ON1 more, it's fun for that final touch sometimes.

Thank you! It's a spooky place to visit, but really cool. Looking at the shot on my phone I think I need to crop it a bit tighter, I'll have to remember to do that later.

Trying to give my Fuji some love. This weekend was mostly spent with friends/family (or friends who are basically family) but still ... I need to give the little camera a proper workout on something a bit more serious. The camera is capable, am I?
