Super stuff Ira… I'm missing the spot AF in servo for most of what I do.. Small AF point would be perfect if we could get away from not having to use One shot with everything.

I agree Jeff, that center point is large compared to the 7D's I have. The R wasn't doing TOO bad, I just need a lot more practice. ;-)a

Just trying a little panning with the R. Did pretty well as long as the operator kept the focus on the car. :-P

It's called the Baby Gatornationals, a regional points meet and there where only a couple hundred people there. Next week is the 50th Gatornationals and the place will be packed. I'll have to get there early. ;-)a

Took the R out this week for a nature walk. This was NOT at a zoo. I was at a "safe" distance when I stopped to take the photos, but these alligators would sun themselves on the walking trail, so we were forced to walk within about 6 feet of them in order to get by. We were very nervous, to say the least.

Called in at Jessops (Edinburgh) yesterday for a hands on of the R and the RP and tbh they seemed pretty good with similar handling to most Canon offerings. Not in any way shape or form revolutionary, they do nothing my current set up can't, but to anyone new to photography/Canon, probably a good jump on point. My 50L dwarfed the RP but felt fairly comfortable. As and when my gear fails, chances are mirrorless will be the only game in town so I'll have to go that route, but for now I'll plug away with my 1 series bodies and long primes :-)

I recently switched to Peak Design system. A little pricy, but good reputation and are supposed to last.

If you sign up for the new Flickr “Pro” account, they offer a 20% discount code.

Easy to swap between strap:

And hand grip:

I use the Peak Design system as well. I have the shoulder strap and the wrist strap. I've thought about the hand grip. I honestly don't like keeping a tripod plate on the camera. I always say I'm going to use the tripod and I never do. -?

I like the Peak Design. I replaced a Black Rapids that I used for years because I never liked how the camera flopped around at my hip.

I have all the Black Rapid stuff too and had the same complaint.

Anyone using a good strap they like with the weight of the R?
I need to ditch this Canon billboard.

Look into Carry Speed. The shoulder strap is wide, soft, and very comfy. The strap design has a limiter and the camera attachment is a quick connect that allows you to choose how the camera hangs. I have 3 of them.

Got rid of my black rapid stuff. too many war wounds in the camera bodies from swinging around
