Looks like he's recharging his battery, at 7,620 volts it won't take long!
Very nice captures.

Nicely photographed shots of the snowy owls. I've yet to ever see one.

I definitely like this shot of the Springer. They are wonderful dogs to hunt over. Their boundless energy is amazing.

I'm looking really hard at one of those. I'd like to get the Sony a9, but I think the learning curve is too steep for this ol guy. I've been waiting for a 7DIII, but I'm beginning to think that's not going to happen for quite awhile. I just wish the 1DXII was smaller and lighter. :-(

It's definitely a beast. I've used a loaner copy with the Blackrapid strap and I've found it barely noticeable.

I usually shoot with two cameras at a time, each hanging off my dual harness. These shoots often involve hiking through hilly forests in >35C temps. Consequently, I need them to be as light as possible and never use a grip.

Most often, it's the 5D3 with 16-35 f/2.8L on one side and the 7D2 with 24-105 f/4L on the other. Occassionally, I will bolt the 70-200 f/2.8L onto the 7D2, but only if the car isn't too far away!

A pair of real pro bodies like the 1DX series would be a literal pain after an hour or two.

5D3, 7D2, EF 16-35 f/2.8L, EF 24-70 f/2.8L II, EF 24-105 f/4L, EF 70-200 f/2.8L II, EF 100-400 f/4.5-5.6L II, EF 1.4x III, Sigma 150mm macro, Lumix LX100 plus a cupboard full of bags, tripods, flashes & stuff.

I'm gonna see what 2019 brings. In the meantime, the 7D2 is still a worthy camera. I don't think I want anything heavier, and I don't want lower pixel density either. We'll see what Canon comes up with, and I'm keeping an eye on Sony too.

I was seriously tempted by Sony too, but I had a brainstorm and bought a 1DX2......
