I'd like to get the Sony a9, but I think the learning curve is too steep for this ol guy. I've been waiting for a 7DIII, but I'm beginning to think that's not going to happen for quite awhile. I just wish the 1DXII was smaller and lighter. LD, or Mike

Bkopperl Senior Member More info | It's definitely a beast. I've used a loaner copy with the Blackrapid strap and I've found it barely noticeable.

Mar 09, 2019 19:43 | #21176 PermanentlyI usually shoot with two cameras at a time, each hanging off my dual harness. These shoots often involve hiking through hilly forests in >35C temps. Consequently, I need them to be as light as possible and never use a grip. 5D3, 7D2, EF 16-35 f/2.8L, EF 24-70 f/2.8L II, EF 24-105 f/4L, EF 70-200 f/2.8L II, EF 100-400 f/4.5-5.6L II, EF 1.4x III, Sigma 150mm macro, Lumix LX100 plus a cupboard full of bags, tripods, flashes & stuff.

Archibald You must be quackers! More info | Mar 09, 2019 19:49 | #21177 I'm gonna see what 2019 brings. In the meantime, the 7D2 is still a worthy camera. I don't think I want anything heavier, and I don't want lower pixel density either. We'll see what Canon comes up with, and I'm keeping an eye on Sony too. Canon R5 and R7, assorted Canon lenses, Sony RX100, Pentax Spotmatic F

I was seriously tempted by Sony too, but I had a brainstorm and bought a 1DX2...... Canon R6 II, RF 800mm.
