if anyone is interested in reading MTF charts, lensrentals has one out for the 135 GM
https://www.lensrentals.com …1-8-gm-early-mtf-results/ (external link)

essentially, it's super duper sharp, sharper than the sigma 135, which is super duper sharp. Combined with super AF, the 135 GM is earning its price tag.

Sharpest non super telephoto lens roger has ever measured. Wow.

I think I Sony engineers hit their stride with GM lenses.

85gm (bokeh) 24 gm (size) 135 gm (sharpness).

I'll have to dig it up but there was a review that had a bokeh comparison and the 85GM and the 85 has smoother bokeh.

I'll be passing on the 135 GM personally. It looks like a fantastic optic, but I've owned 135mm lenses several times and they always end up being too similar to 85mm. Very recently it was the Sigma 135, which at the end of the day was underutilized because 85mm is my bread and butter. Plus 85 f1.4 in crop mode is basically 135 f1.8 ... FOV, DOF, and light gathering/EV value is the same...only penalty is resolution. It's basically like shooting a 135mm on an a7III vs a7rIII.

I know this is not Sony related but does anyone here have any interests in Leica Q2? I don’t think I’ve had such bad GAS since my last purchase of a7rii few years ago.. Am I stupid to even consider such expensive fixed lens camera?

Not at all. I got an email from Pop Flash about it and it looked like my dream camera. Thought to myself, yeah, it’ll cost around $8,000. Saw the specs, saw the price, and I was like, wow that less than I though.

Think of it this was, a D850 + 28mm 1.4 = $5,500
A7rIII + 24mm GM = $4,600

The Q2 is $4,995
Even cropped at 35mm it’s a respectable 30MP file. Of course you’d be stuck with a single card slot and a single 28mm option. But it’s not as crazy as we’d think.

Did I mention I still love baloney (bologna) sandwiches like I did when I was a kid? I do like to substitute sliced green olives for dill pickle at the moment though. :-)

I came from a blue-collar working class family where my dad worked as a crane operator and my mom was a proud homemaker. We weren't poor but we lived simply and frugally. My mom wasn't the best cook but we ate well and never went hungry. My school lunch consisted of a baloney sandwich and a small amount of potato chips wrapped in wax paper in a brown paper bag...every single day...and I liked it.

It was a wonderful time in my life. Heck, I even got one pair of new shoes every year for the new school year.

Odd find at a casino property, but Wynn is anything but typical.

Now they just need to combine all 3 into a 35mm f/1.8 or F1.8.4 GM :p

Hey if they can make that 24gm so small, imagine what they can do with a 35!

I'm actually having similar thoughts to 85mm/135mm. Thinking that the 24GM in crop mode could replace the FE 35 1.4
