Their plates are smaller than most. I use a tripod pretty frequently, so it is a plus for me, especially since it is Arca compatible. They also have a “mini” plate for smaller cameras. Perfect for the GX9 that I’ll be getting this week.

I’ve noticed that connecting shoulder strap to bottom and one side, the camera carries better than when the strap is connected to both sides.

If you don’t want a plate, they also have a very small mount available as well. It gives you two points to mount the tab things that connect into the straps.

What SD cards is everyone using with the R? should I upgrade to UHS-2 cards?

Delkin Prime/Power, both uhs-ii. I'm not sure at what point you would notice the difference but I know video is one area that you might need the speed. I don't know how much it would affect buffer clearing for high speed but that was the main reason I went with uhs-ii, I didn't want to be held back by a card ever.

I am using a UHS 2 on mine, I have older versions and I did use them on the R when I got it. They were working fine and honestly I got the UHS 2 out of curiosity.

I've been using a Sandisk Extreme Pro 95 mb/s SDXC 1, V30 128gb card from the start and it does everything very smoothly… 4K, 1080, even C-log 8 bit has no issue.
I do have a Lexar SDXC II but the extra cash did nothing for the camera or me..

Some will tell you they get one or two extra images before they hit the buffer… that's around 47 / 48 images… personally I rarely hold it down that long… can't remember the last time actually.

Hello I am not understanding why you are using a 160 shutter speed?

To achieve a panning blur effect in the background and the foreground. It gives the picture a feel of motion.

The dragster is not up to speed yet. The shots in the middle of the race will be more dramatic if you pan your shots with a low speed shutter.. Shots from the line would probably better at a higher speed but then you would need to drop your ss for the rest of the race if you plan to pan your shots.

You may have a whole second to change the shutter speed at that point.

I was trying the new camera out in the panning mode. I really didn't want to start changing the exposer. Just a little lazy I guess.
PS You still get the feeling of motion from the tire/wheel spinning.
