As far as accurate, dependable AF, I think it works great. I've taken several self portraits with this lens and focus on the eye is spot on. I haven't had any issues with focus speed but I don't usually shoot in a fast paced moving environment.

Here's a casual shot I took of a friend of mine wide open in low, ambient light. The shutter speed was 1/30th. The camera used was my a7r4.
