Got this lens and returned back at the first test. Took a couple of shots and chromatic aberrations was so bad I didn't blink twice to send it back. It was tack sharp, focusing was very fast, but...
Anyone else had any issues with this lens?

Can’t say I ever found CA to be a huge problem with mine. Do you have any samples?

it never caused any problems for me; it has small amount of purple fringing. 85L 1.2 was a huge problem for with insane amount of purple fringing (in the eyes even) ruining my videos. Much happier with 85L IS in every way.

Hi nqjudo, I got so sad and dissapointed I literally run to pack everything back quickly as I can... and I formatted the card (like if I could return it too)... meh!
The test pic was taken with also new 5DMK4 that I got me as my bday gift —see post here—
https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1503903

It was bad, green and purple lines everywhere. I’m no pro in lens knowledge, but I believe a lens this expensive shouldn’t perform like this.

Maybe I just got the lemon...again, I remember when 70-200 2.8 II came out I had to change it too because of af issues, the exchanged one ended superb.

Yes - I see a lot of purple fringing in some shots - though not in others. It does mean I need to check for it - but it removes OK in ACR Raw. That fly-tying shot I just posted... there was purple fringing in the spectacle frames.

I had the purple fringing with my copy.
In truth the lens was hardly any better than the 1.2 mk2.

I didn't see much IS action with the lens, certainly not four stops.

Very sharp though.
