Those of you that travel with family know that squeezing in some dedicated photography time is sometimes difficult. Fortunately, the evening that I chose as my photography time paid off. One of the best views of Santa Fe during sunset can be found up top a small hill where you'll find Cross of the Martyrs. The sunset didn't disappoint. This was the best light during my entire trip.

It snowed a few days later. Unfortunately I couldn't make it out to this location to shoot the town covered in snow during the day but I'm still grateful that I had the opportunity to capture this sunset shot.

Really impactful image Alfredo.. I'm sure work was done in post to accentuate this..but the way the light is cast on that cross is just really interesting.. Taking religious/anti-religious biases out of the mix, you can appreciate what the intended message was when the cross was placed there.

Thank you Carlo. It’s a beautiful spot to walk around and look out across the town. I didn’t do any dodging on the cross. It’s made out of metal and painted white so it stands out pretty well against the sky. There is a couple just of the left of the cross. I liked them in the image. Kind of completes the story of the image.

Thank you David. I’m digging the rendering of the CV40. Nice image.

I’m still (relatively) new here, so I’m probably useless for giving ideas. For myself I like visiting the state parks, and if I lived in Atlanta I’d be going to the in the ones in the mountains. Cloudland Canyon, Tallulah Gorge, Amicalola Falls are the top three imo (been to all those?).

I may head over to Macon this week...their Cherry Blossom Festival starts Friday. I’m not sure if I care about the festival part, but would like to see the trees. That city makes me sad...a beautiful downtown that must have really bustled back in the 1950-70s, but now a lot of poverty.

I dont know about Freds calibration, interesting, however using the calibration for processing colors in genera can work very well. I've used that tool before to get the colors I want without touching much else. Probably not a good idea to use that in favor of HSL, since syncing may not work well across lenses, but it can be pretty useful for some images.

I had something similar when I used to shoot nice soft pastel colours a long time ago :)

I will say, I think Sony does fall down on its greens. Doesn't bother me too much as I drag the HSL sliders around regardless....!
