Back from Napa, Flying in the Cessna 182 over the bay out to point reyes then over the ocean (with grey whales below) back over to Bodega Bay then a stop in Petaluma for lunch then over Sonoma and back to Napa 4.5 hours of flight time. I was having so much fun and the pexiglass was too thick so didnt get many aerial shots. But then had a few days to shoot some stuff. Lightroom is being bad to me so only edited a few. Below is from the Point Reyes area which we drove the next day after our flight

Nice capture of the swallow. I know how hard they are to photograph. Last time I had the opportunity, I think I almost twisted myself into the ground trying to track them through the lens.:-)

I love these kinds of buildings to photograph. I wondered what the dark, rectangular object was in the tree branches until I zoomed in for a closer look and saw that it's the spark arrester on a chimminy. Since the chimminy appeared very blue (cyan), I wondered what would happen if I clicked on it using the white balance eye dropper in Adobe ACR.

EDIT: I just saw your "no talent..." comment above. Bs I say! :-)

f/1.7 is a lovely stop to shoot at with mine. Wider is also perfectly fine, but that seems to give a nice balance of sharpness, DOF and look.

GAS alert.

I have GAS for the Sony 12-24mm

There are some high ceiling houses that I encountered and some of them are small. No space to backup. I know it can be too wide but sometimes you need to show the whole space then shoot tighter for each part.

The 24-105 looks great here. Another lens to add to my list. That range is so useful for travel.

it's great corner to corner, but that flare can be an occasional issue

nope, but the 77mm filter trick is good for 14-24mm? fairly easy trick to do, just add a few layers of tape on a 77mm filter, and you're done. I simply use a single 6 stop because I it's most useful, I can get good shutter speeds with seascapes.
