gonzogolf dumb remark memorialized More info | Mar 23, 2019 14:44 | #3 The AF is plenty fast. If there is any focus issues it would be the limitations of your camera and skill set.

I used it for basketball (as far as needing fast AF) and never found it lacking. Very nice lens for your application. Edward Jenner

Mar 24, 2019 19:40 | #8 Focusing speed is extremely quick on this lens, as you'd expect from a longer L prime - it's definitely faster than the 70-200f4L, which I see you also have in your gear list. While it is very accurate as well, keep in mind that the shallow depth of field makes it easy to miss your intended focus point (ie- the lens is very accurate, but prone to user error). ~Jason
