Yellowhammer in Brixham, Devon. There has been a massive population decline in the Uk over the past 5 years. I was reading that yellowhammers have just been introduced to Australia and New Zealand.

Well done Sid! This is just perfect in every way, must check out my dippers see how they are getting on.

Again Spot On....10/10....My favourite bird, always a challenge getting a good photograph of a dipper, usually in dark areas with dense canopies.

Thanks very much Paul, they are lovely little birds indeed, I'm looking forward to the next couple of months observation at this spot! :)

Third time lucky to get this shot of bearded tit/reedling at Westhay Moor on the Somerset levels. Always hear them but rarely see them.

very nice Paul, this is a bird that I haven't managed to even see let alone photograph, I don't think there are any any where near me at all so I probably won't either! :)

Marvelous shot, Sid...very nicely composed.

Wow what a nest. They must live in tornado country.

Thanks for the encouragement Mike, that nest is well anchored to the tree and those branches are all going to leaf up shortly so it may get a little more hidden but hopefully still be able to see them coming and going.

Does anyone know the reason for the massive population decline? They are a pretty bird, and I hope they can make a comeback.
Excellent image, Paul.

Very nice series Sid. I wonder if he thanked her afterwards. It looks like he just kinda snuck off to grab a smoke or something. :p

Cool looking, humerus shot, Graham. He's even wearing a band.

Wow, miss a few days here and there's a squillion ace posts to catch up on, it'll take a while! :)
Meanwhile I scouted out a spot on the river not 5 mins from home where I thought there might be dippers or kingfishers. Kind of stuck gold at the first spot I stopped at......
