Mar 30, 2019 19:10 | #5074 Literally my first time ever doing a headshot for money. Besides the very unfortunate background (I wish I had arranged to do this on location somewhere), what do you all think? Image is to be used for LinkedIn and other professional uses. I would get rid of the hotspots on her forehead, either in camera raw or you could try to feather that main light which seems to be a beauty dish. Also the face needs more cleaning and some dodge and burn.

Mar 31, 2019 18:24 | #5081 Yesterday a friend asked for a favour to update his headshot, the company had a photographer come in and just didn't get him right, the usual of just a couple of shots and no real direction. Naturally I said yes, as he did the surveying on my house for free how could I say no. Fujifilm cameras and lenses.

I always keep a pack or two blotting tissue around for that. Is the background a corner? Seems to be a dark and lighter half with a shadow line growing up out of her head. The background (to me at least) could be a few feet further back. Less intrusive in the pic Here’s a good read: https://fstoppers.com …started-photography-30897 Here’s an sample, background-wise about 7 feet from the model.
Would you like to buy a vowel?

I didn't do any sort of skin smoothing, but I did take a look at that fstoppers link which was super helpful. Here's the updated version with some dodge/burn action.
