Mighty tasty looking Ken. ;-)a :p With that tough hide of the armadillo, the Caracara must have had to work pretty hard for his dinner.

i'm thinking it's roadkill?

What a cool shot!! He'll be awhile digesting that one, Shalu.

Thank you very much, Mike!

Ha, ha...I noticed that in order to answer Matthew's question, you had to wait for a subject to come along, Shalu. :-P :p It definitely looks better than simply taking a shot of the hillside.

Haha, it did look that way right? The truth was, I already had the shot the day before. I was thinking, "where should I post this? It is not a bird, not 'Are you looking at me' shot...", as I normally only follow and post in those few threads. Then I saw Matthew's question, Bingo! perfect time to post this photo :-P:lol:

Well done Shalu. The green background color contrasts very nicely with the GBH.

Dark-eyed junco

Beautiful photo.
Lovely detail and composition.

Magnificent action shot.
Love the colours and the droplets spraying out from the wings and other areas.
Really adds to the drama and overall scene.

Certainly a tussle for that bird.

Andean Ibis, a fascinating bird. It is related to other ibises but is not a wading bird. It lives at high elevations in the Andes.

Fascinating bird, (oh you said that too :p) beautifully photographed. Well it is all of that and more.
Overall composition and detail is so very nice.

Splendid shot, Michael. I wish we had some of your blue jays out here. I'm tired of scrub jays. Oh well, I guess the other person's grass always look greener.

Indeed, though right now I'm hoping my Tufted Titmouse, House Finches, Carolina Wrens, and Ruby-crowned Kinglets start frequenting my back yard again. I wouldn't even mind some starlings!
