Besides price. And i know the difference of the sensors. From what i have read and seen and in the photos they both look great besides a few quirks some have mentioned. Would it be safe to say T2I to 7DII difference?( I can relate to that):-D. Thanks everyone

Think of it as the mirrorless version of a 6D2 vs the mirrorless version of a (hypothetical) 6D3 - new sensor, a bit faster, but not a 5D to my sensibilities. I think in crop-world that would be like a mirrorless 70D vs mirrorless 80D. I'd make the decision more on size, price, and battery life than the sensor, though I do prefer the new sensor.

People say that, but when I had mine, it did not feel up to that level. Others do disagree, but the lack of the second card slot, lack of the joystick, presence of tilty-flippy, and the lack of the 5D-level weather sealing imply that Canon may agree with me. It will be interesting to see what happens with the future of the lineup.

Guess i need to update that sometime. But got the 70-200 II.Been saving for the 16-35 but think that's going to go towards the R or RP.Trying to sort this all out one part of me says get the R. But then i see i can get the RP with the R lens 24-105 for around the price of the R. Or just grab the RP and enjoy what it is use the glass i got and work on getting R glass for it. And do what i did with the T2I waited for the 7D mark II. But that was such a long wait<<<<.

I suggest you pick up a 6D, and let the waters settle around what Canon is doing with the RF lens line up and the other bodies.

You save money, you get the same basic IQ, and you can natively use some of the glass you already have.

Watch for sales on the Canon refurbished site for great deals and save some money.

I've been keeping an eagle eye on the refurbished page for an EOS R, nothing. They really don't want to throw that thing out there at a discount yet. I was thinking all those demo cameras they loaned out at the product intro in Hawaii are probably candidates for the refurbished store, so it would seem there would be no shortage of inventory to sell as refurbished.

When i got my 7DII it was pretty soon after the release. If i recall was like the first 3 months that i grabbed it from the Canon Refurb store. And think there was a limited amount like 50,75,85 was under 100. But yes thank you for the reminder :)

Possibly because the R brings EF lenses to performance beyond the best of Canon DSLR bodies ?

The EOS R is so good with EF glass, it's not just because of money I haven't ordered the RF 24-105mm.

But for the RP, I don't know the answer for the same thing.

Was looking through the R thread last night and today finally made it to the end. Was just completely amazed at the photos in there from the EF glass.

I haven't used my RP very much yet, but so far it seems to be doing extremely well with my EF glass also.
